Project Zoe - Mothers' Day Lunch
Project Zoe, the Castle Cove Sailing Club Ladies Sailing fundraising group, held a Mothers’ Day lunch to raise money for a boat to be named in Zöe’s honour for Chesil Sailability. Seventy guests at Castle Cove Sailing Club enjoyed a lovely Mothering Sunday, with a full roast pork or chicken complete with seasonal vegetables and home-made stuffing, gravy, bread sauce and apple sauce. Pudding consisted of a huge collection of the famously fabulous Ladies Sailing's home-made puddings! The club house was decorated with bunting, and made for a lovely lunch to celebrate Mothers’ Day and the launch of Project Zöe. Home-made cakes, flavoured oils, jewellery and home grown plants were also for sale. Including a few donations from the week, this raised an impressive £1478 for Project Zöe, taking them to almost the half-way mark! The atmosphere in the club house was delightful for a truly lovely family occasion. As part of Project Zoe, Anaick Ankers sold some beautiful Mothers' Day cards in aid of the project. Many thanks to Diana Gill and her team of 20 helpers who organised and served the delicious meal, and everyone who supported the day!
