Baton Relay: Stage 3
Stage Three of our baton relay saw the original 2012 volunteers baton orignally donated to Chesil Sailability from Sandra West, Paralympic Games Maker being passed on by Philip and Dick. These two race team sailors passed it onto Alan Morgan and Sue Stuart who have both been really supportive during 2014 and kept us safely afloat. Marcus, Director of Sailing, said that working in a team with Alan has meant we've had RIBs on the water each week, and skilled drivers to drive them - an essential part of each of our sailing sessions! Sue Stuart had just bought a new yacht and took it for it's maiden voage to the end of our race course for the Grand Prix event, and spend a weekend on it as Finish Boat, recoridng all the boats as they crossed the line. As well as keeping proper records, she and her crew offered cheers and encouragement to all the sailors from onboard Red Dwarf. A welcome sight for all the sailors as they fisnihed each lap and race.
Thank you Sue and Alan for everything you have done to keep us safely alfoat this summer!
