On Friday night, we had our first Annual Celebration and Awards Evening, hosted at the Spinnakers Room, WPNSA. It was a chance to socialise and mark some of the great achievements of all our members over the last year. With a massive thank you to Kirsty Lydeard for organising it all, and all our members who attended and made it such a good night! The following awards were presented:
Chesil Sailability Burgees to Mrs Shipley, Yacht Clubs of Weymouth and Project Zöe to thank them for their support this year
Wooden Spoon to Andrew Criswick for being the only volunteer to fall in the water! (He accpeted it with a mock-Oscars speech that kept everyone entertained!)
The next stage in our 2012 Baton Relay went to sailor, Katie Langrishe, for her smile and keen-ness all year!
Volunteer-Sailor award went to Jane Buckle, for her time and effort as volunteer coordiantor.
Our Treasurer, Mike Clarkson, receive the award for the best 'behind the scenes' volunteer, although he isn't seen during sailing sessions, he really makes sure we are ship-shape!
Philip Hall received the award for the most improved sailor, with his first regattas in 2014 earning him a 2nd place in one event!
