Chesil Sailability’s Race Team travelled to Wiltshire this weekend to compete in the first Grand Prix event of the year at Whitefriars Sailing Club. With very strong and gusty winds on Saturday and more manageable but still gusty wind on Sunday it was a challenging weekend of sailing, but brilliant fun none the less. The three Chesil Sailability boats did well, finishing 1st, 5th and 6th overall. Everyone learnt a lot, including the importance of bailing the boats quickly, and not running aground in the the shallow parts of the lake! The racing was very close among the 6 Hansa 303 doubles, with places changing on every leg, and not many points between each boat, making it great racing! We all had fun as a team and we are already looking forward to the next event.
